The US State Department said that the US supports India’s emergence as a leading global power. At the same time, Washington considers New Delhi an important partner in making New Delhi a region of peace, stability and economic inclusion in the Indo-Pacific.
The State Department said, the US and India cooperate on a wide range of diplomatic, economic and security issues. These include defence, non-proliferation, regional cooperation in the Indo-Ocean, shared democratic values, counter-terrorism, climate change, health, trade and investment, peacekeeping and others. It said US-India defense cooperation is reaching new heights, including through information sharing, liaison officers and defense enabling agreements.

It said the US and India are also closely coordinating on regional security issues such as Afghanistan. This statement of the US State Department has come at a time when US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has reached New Delhi on his two-day visit to India. Blinken will meet his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar on this visit.

At the same time, the Indian Foreign Ministry said that Blinken will also meet National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. It has also been learned that the two sides will also discuss the possibility of holding an individual summit of the leaders of the Quad in Washington later this year.
